The Guidance and Psychological Counseling (GPC) Division of the Department of Educational Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University continues to serve as a leading scientific reference point in the region through its commitment to social contribution and collaboration with external stakeholders. In response to a request from the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education, an online training seminar was organized for guidance teachers and school psychological counselors working throughout Samsun and its districts. On May 18, 2026, Prof. Dr. Hatice Kumcağız, Head of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Division, delivered an online seminar for guidance teachers and school psychological counselors serving in schools across Samsun and its districts.
A Scientific Response to Critical and Contemporary Needs in the Field
The seminar program was carefully designed in line with the needs identified by the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education. Participants received information and guidance on several important topics, including the prevention of violence in schools, peer bullying, combating addiction, psychosocial support, and school belonging.
Through this training initiative, the department provided strong scientific support for guidance and counseling practices in the field while further enhancing its institutional impact and strengthening its collaboration with external stakeholders.We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Samsun Provincial Directorate of National Education for its valuable cooperation and to all guidance teachers and school psychological counselors who actively participated in the seminar.
