Strong Collaboration for Future Psychological Counselors: A Strategic Evaluation Meeting with School Psychological Counselors

The Guidance and Psychological Counseling (GPC) Division of the Department of Educational Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University continues to deepen its institutional partnerships with external stakeholders in order to enhance the quality of education and strengthen the connection between theory and practice. Within this framework, on June 9, 2026, a comprehensive online evaluation and coordination meeting was held as part of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Practices in Schools II course. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Dr. Hatice Kumcağız, Head of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling Division, and brought together faculty members of the division as well as school psychological counselors actively working in the field.

During the meeting, participants conducted a comprehensive evaluation of current practices and shared recommendations for future improvements. Field-based counseling practices implemented in schools were reviewed through the observations and experiences of school psychological counselors, allowing for a detailed analysis of the current situation. The feedback provided by school psychological counselors offered valuable insights that will support the optimization of internship and field practice experiences in line with the needs of schools and the realities of professional practice.

At the conclusion of the meeting, appreciation was expressed to all school psychological counselors for their valuable contributions, suggestions, and professional insights. Participants also emphasized their commitment to maintaining and further strengthening this collaborative partnership in the future.
