In the “Traditional Picnic Event” organized in cooperation with our Department and the OMÜ Guidance and Psychological Counseling Student Community, our university senior administration, faculty administration, department faculty members, and students came together in the unique natural environment of the campus and demonstrated a strong sense of institutional unity.
The Department of Guidance and Psychological Counseling at Ondokuz Mayıs University (OMÜ) organized a remarkable social event with the aim of relieving the stress of the intensive academic semester and maximizing institutional cohesion. The “Traditional GPC Picnic,” held on May 11, 2026, at the Pond Campus and organized by the OMÜ Guidance and Psychological Counseling Student Community, was carried out in a truly festive atmosphere with the extensive participation of university administrators and students.
Administration and Students Together
The event, organized to increase the motivation of future psychological counselor candidates and strengthen their sense of belonging to the campus, was attended by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Alper KESTEN, our Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Hamza ÇALIŞICI, our Vice Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kemal ÖZCAN, our Secretary General Prof. Dr. Erhan Burak PANCAR, our Head of the Department of Educational Sciences Prof. Dr. Hatice KUMCAĞIZ, and the esteemed faculty members of our department, who did not leave the students alone on this happy day.
At the picnic, which was attended by the third- and fourth-year students of our department, the university and faculty senior administration showed close interest in the students, engaged in sincere conversations with them, and listened to their expectations and enthusiasm in an atmosphere intertwined with nature.
We would like to thank our Guidance and Psychological Counseling Student Community for their efforts in organizing this wonderful event, which once again revealed the institutional dynamism of the GPC family, its friendly face, and the strong bridges between administration and students; our university and faculty administration who honored us with their presence; and all of our students.
